Making Music
To record music i bought an old Boss BR-900CD. I managed to get one that was still in great condition. These were first available from around 2006. Recording has come a long way since then, so what i do is record all of the parts i need on this then i outsource someone to take it in to pro tools to mix and master it.
To make the music i have been using programmable drums, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, CDJ decks and samples that i have recorded of many things from crows to water dripping in a cavern.
I would generally just write lots of rough lyrics first, decide on a tempo of the song, come up with the instrumental parts along with the programmed drums. I then re-write the lyrics to fit the song and experiment with different vocals until i decide what i want to keep.
I have always loved albums that have interludes. Meat Loaf’s “Bat out of Hell” album was the first that i’d ever listened to with parts like that in it. I think it adds a bit of creativity to the listening experience. So you can expect some interludes or samples in any Soulmoon musical project that is made.
